Trial continues for third day in Keweenaw Co.

There is no verdict yet in the trial in Keweenaw County for a man accused of fleeing a car accident that killed a passenger.  The trial is now in its third day.

David Simons, 39, of Calumet was driving in Allouez Township in November of 2011 when he crashed on Five Mile Point Road.

Jeffrey Brusso, 53, from Allouez Township was killed in the accident.  Simons fled the scene, and was later arrested at his mother’s home.

Police say Simons was drunk at the time of the accident.  He is charged with three, 15 year Felonies relating to causing Brusso’s death.  Those Felonies are: Operating a Vehicle Causing Death, Failure to Stop, and Driving with a Suspended or Revoked License.
