Health experts say there are still plenty of doses of flu vaccine available for anybody who hasn’t had one yet.

But those doses are more difficult to find in some places than in others.

The Marquette County, Western U.P., Dickinson–Iron and Delta–Menominee health departments all have a large supply.

Private providers may be a very different story.

Many pharmacies are out of vaccine at the moment.

Portage health stocks the Apothecary pharmacies in Houghton and Hancock.

They’re out of standard vaccine.

Staff at The Drug Store in Iron Mountain say they’re also out, but they have 50 doses of the vaccine on order.

People’s Drug Store in escanaba received a vaccine shipment today, but every dose in that shipment is already set aside for people who’ve made vaccination appointments.

Because pharmacies and individual physicians are likely to be out of stock, they’re recommending going to a public health department for the vaccine.
