Armed Home Invasion Trial Continues
The trial continued throughout the day Tuesday for a Chicago-area man in connection with an armed home invasion in Munising Township.
Ruben Rodriguez of Elmwood Park, Illinois had his trial began on Monday in Munising.
Court officials say they’re expecting closing arguments to take place sometime on Thursday.
Two of his co–defendants, Israel Velez and George Carmona, have pleaded guilty to their roles in the incident.
Another co–defendant, Issac Cotto, will go to trial later this month.
Police say the four held a hostage in his home on East Powell Lake Road in Munising Township last February.
The men were charged with first–degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment, armed robbery and several other offenses.
Rodriguez originally faced additional charges of wearing body armor during the commission of a violent crime and a weapons charge for the discharge of a firearm in or at a building.
