Two Ironwood residents arrested in connection with fire

Two Ironwood residents have been arrested and charged for manufacturing meth in connection with a New Year’s Eve fire at 131 S. Mansfield Street in Ironwood.

The Ironwood Department of Public Safety says the preliminary investigation identified that the fire was caused by an active meth lab on the second floor of the residence.  Components used to make meth are hazardous and combustible.  Carelessness while making meth resulted in an explosion, which in turn caused the fire.

GIANT, along with the Ironwood Department of Public Safety conducted two search warrants within Ironwood.  UPSET was contacted to assist with the cleanup and dismantling of the meth lab.

The individuals were charged with 20 year felonies resulting from manufacturing meth.  Additional charges are being sought, and their names will be released pending arraignment.
