Rollover accident sends one to the hospital

An early morning roll over accident in Houghton County has sent one woman to the hospital. Deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department came across the accident on Bootjack Road in Torch Lake Township at 1 o’clock this morning.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 25 –year–old Wisconsin woman was driving south on Bootjack Road when she lost control of her vehicle, crossed the center line, and then into a ditch. The vehicle rolled before coming to a rest on its’ roof. The woman was trapped inside, and the jaws of life were needed to get her out.

She was taken to Keweenaw Aspirus Hospital for treatment of non–life threatening injuries. Mercy Ambulance, Bootjack Fire and First Responders, Lake Linden Fire and First Responders and Hubbell Fire Department all assisted at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
