US-41 Wreck in Marquette Twp.

Three people went to the hospital Wednesday afternoon for minor injuries after a three car accident on US-41 in Marquette Township near the entrance to the Lowe’s store and 41 Lumber.

Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post say the accident happened just after 4 p.m. when a 2012 Chevy Avalanche driven by Richard Sorensen, 80, of Little Lake pulled out of Lowe’s into the path of a 2003 Ford Windstar minivan driven by Kylee Bressette, 17, of Marquette.   Bressette’s vehicle then crossed into the eastbound lane and struck an eastbound Ford Ranger driven by Timothy Frisk of Champion.

Sorensen’s wife, 76-year-old Carol Sorensen, Bressette and her passenger, 14-year-old Hallie Juchemich, were transported to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries by Medi-Ride and Marquette General Ambulances.

Sorensen was cited for failing to yield right of way.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Marquette Police Department
and the Marquette Township Fire Department.
