Education and jobs were the main topics of discussion today at a round table meeting in Houghton.
Congressman Dan Benishek met with educational leaders from the Copper Country, along with representatives from the MTECH Smartzone and Rio Tinto officials.
The meeting was held on the campus of Michigan Tech.
Benishek said he wanted to get an idea of what to fight for in Washington that will help Northern Michigan residents find jobs.
Input from those in attendance included finding more room for vocational training in schools and focusing on engineering studies.
Benishek said he believed there are jobs out there for workers who are able to learn the right set of skills.
