Marquette Township fatal fire ruled accidental

The fire in Marquette Township last week that claimed the life of 37-year-old Amy Cook has been ruled accidental.

According to police, the fire that occurred in Cook’s mobile home on Moran Street on November 29 started in the kitchen area.

When crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.  It wasn’t until they were able to control the blaze that they discovered Cook’s body inside.

The cause of death is still undetermined – pending a toxicology report and the final report of the Marquette County Medical Examiner.

Authorities say there is no sign of foul play.
