NMU's Jessie named Special Teams Player of thte Week

BAY CITY, Mich. – Junior Christian Jessie, of the Northern Michigan University football team, is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference “Special Teams Player of the Week”.

The wide receiver from Grand Rapids, Mich., broke a Superior Dome record with a 99-yard kickoff return for touchdown in the third quarter of NMU’s 32-31 loss to Ferris State on Saturday. Jessie finished with 160 return yards on four attempts. He finished the regular season first in the GLIAC in kick return average, posting 28.6 yards per return in 2012.

Jessie finished the season with a team-leading 501 receiving yards on 33 catches. He also led the team with eight touchdowns on six receiving, one rushing and the kick return.
