Hurricane Sandy's Effects Reach the U.P.

The Upper Peninsula is feeling the effects from Hurricane Sandy tonight.

Lake Superior in Marquette was kicking up strong waves.

And other areas of Upper Michigan are also feeling some of the effects of the super-storm that is creating havoc on the East Coast.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory that will remain in effect until midnight tonight.

The hazardous weather may include sustained north winds of 15 to 30 miles per hour with gusts to around 45 through this evening.

The strongest winds are expected along the Lake Superior shoreline from Big Bay to Marquette and from Munising to Grand Marais.
