BRIDGE High School Blame

The battle for the 110th District seat in the Michigan House is heating up as Election Day draws near.

Democrat Scott Dianda of Calumet is running for the seat currently occupied by Republican Matt Huuki of Atlantic Mine.

Today, in front of the former BRIDGE Alternative High School in Hancock, Dianda called the Republican tax breaks to banks and insurance companies shameful.

And he blamed cuts to education for the school’s closing.

The school closed its doors in August due to a lack of funding when there weren’t enough students enrolled.

Huuki says any idea that Republicans are forcing schools to close is foolish.

Huuki was in the Houghton area as a moderator for Governor Rick Snyder’s town hall broadcast.
