Two sex offenders arrested

Two sex offenders have been arrested in the U.P. as part of Operation Verify.  The annual statewide sweep to verify the addresses of convicted offenders is to find those who are not complying with the terms of their court agreements.  Michigan State Police at the Gladstone Post and the Menominee Police Department worked together on the sweep.

A 58 year old Menominee man was arrested for failure to verify and to change his address.  A 31 year old Menominee man was arrested for failure to verify his address and for residing in a school safety zone.

Not keeping police informed of a change of address is a felony punishable by up to four years for a sex offender.  Failure to verify an address is a 93 day misdemeanor.
