In march, Marquette Senior High School student Elle Pearson won a nationwide essay contest about how the ‘Transitions’ Career Choices curriculum has affected her life.
The grand prize was a visit and speaking appearance by Dain Blanton, who won an Olympic gold medal in beach volleyball in 2000.
He spoke to Marquette Senior High School freshmen in a morning assembly and visited a few classrooms.
Blanton will attend the Redettes’ volleyball game tonight against Escanaba, and on Thursday, he’ll visit eighth-graders at Bothwell Middle School.
