Write-in Candidates on November Ballots

The general election is now less than four weeks away. Candidates are stepping up efforts for election.

You may see some of the same signs and candidates around town you saw for the primary but also some you have not.

Write–in candidates are fairly common in elections. This year there will be more of the same. Write–in candidates need more than just their name written on the ballot. There is a specific process to become a write–in candidate.

According to Marquette County Clerk Peter Dishnow, more often than not – the write–in candidate has a harder time winning their particular race than the person or people already on the ballots.
