Suspected Meth Lab Explosion in Iron Mtn.

An Iron Mountain man is in the hospital after a suspected meth lab explosion.

The Iron Mountain Daily News is reporting that it happened shortly after 6:30 Central time last night in a home on the 700 block of North Kimberly Avenue.

We’ve attempted to speak today with both the Iron Mountain Police Department and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team about the incident.

Both agencies have declined comment.

However, the Daily News is reporting that the man injured in the explosion is 30 years old.

The man was apparently admitted to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital with severe chemical burns and has been transferred elsewhere for further treatment.

We’ll have more information for you about this if and when it’s released.
