MARQUETTE, Mich. – Bill Williams has been named the assistant swimming and
diving coach of the Northern Michigan University swimming and diving team
head coach Heidi Voigt announced. Williams will work with the divers.

“I’m excited to have Bill as my diving coach,” Voigt said. “He is very
passionate about diving and will be an excellent leader of our young squad
of four divers moving forward.”

Williams recently served as the boys and girls diving coach at Holy
Redeemer High School (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) from 2010-12. He led the girls
team to two district titles and had a boy diver break two school records
and finish tenth at the state diving meet.

Williams spent the last three summers coaching diving camps at Clarion
(Pa.) University. He has worked with USA Olympic diving coach John
Wingfield and met the majority of the 2012 London diving team.

Williams graduated from Lock Haven (Pa.) University in 2010 with a
bachelor’s degree in sport administration.

At Wyoming West High School (Plymouth, Pa.), Williams finished 14th at the
state diving meet and was an All-American honorable mention and broke a
23-year old record in diving.
