Ishpeming Twp. Four-Wheeler Crash

A 17-year-old male from Ishpeming is recovering from a head-on crash on a four-wheeler in Ishpeming Township Sunday afternoon.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says it happened on Deer Lake Road, about three and a half miles north of County Road GM, at 4:45 this afternoon.

The young ORV driver was heading north but drove into the southbound side on a curve in an attempt to pass another ORV.

A 39-year-old Marquette man was heading south on that same curve in a Jeep Cherokee.

Police say when the teen saw the Jeep, he tried to turn out of its way but could not avoid it.

He was taken to Marquette General for treatment of unknown injuries.

His condition, and the names of the two drivers, are not available at this time.

The Sheriff’s Department says the teen was wearing a helmet and that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The Ishpeming Township Fire Department, Ishpeming Township First Responders and Bell EMS helped out at the accident scene.
