NICE School Board Reshuffling

The NICE Community School District Board of Education has a little bit of a new look.

Coming into a meeting tonight, the school board was short two members.

NICE School Board Vice President Christopher Ray has recently left the area, moving out of state.

Board Treasurer Chris Roose had his seat up for re–election this year, but he has decided not to run because the new term would have been too long for his liking.

He has resigned from his own term and has been appointed to fill Ray’s seat through the end of 2014.

Former school board member Glenn Wing has announced his interest in filling Roose’s former seat.

The term expires at the end of this year and is on the November ballot.

The district will be advertising the opening in the next few days.

Former Aspen Ridge School principal Bryan DeAugustine has stepped into the superintendent job on a two-year contract.

NICE’s former superintendent, Mike Haynes, left the area in July for a new job in Wisconsin.
