Car accident sends five to the hospital
Five people are recovering from a car accident in Franklin Township from Sunday night.
The accident happened at about 8:00 last night on South Cloverland Road in Franklin Township. The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says 17–year–old Sarah Kotajarvi of Laurium lost control of her vehicle and left the roadway.
She, and four passengers, were taken to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Portage Health in hancock with minor injuries. The Boston, Quincy–Franklin and Calumet Township Fire Departments assisted at the scene. Police believe high speed was a factor in the accident.
