Labor Day fatality statistics released
The final numbers on fatal accidents from the Labor Day holiday weekend are not available yet. But according to the Michigan State Police, preliminary reports indicate 6 people lost their lives in Michigan in 6 separate traffic crashes during the long weekend.
One of the 6 victims was known to have used restraints. And alcohol was a known factor in 1 of the 6 fatal crashes. By comparison, 12 people died in traffic crashes on labor day weekend last year
The State Police considers Labor Day weekend to run from 6 pm last Friday through midnight Monday night.
