McClellan Avenue extension opens

It’s been more than four decades in the making, but the McClellan Avenue extension from fair avenue to Wright Street is complete.

The city of Marquette held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the McClellan and Fair Avenue intersection today. Current and former city officials who were involved with the project over the years attended.

The north and south McClellan Avenue extension was designed in 1971 as a way for true north–south route for traffic through the city. This leg of the project makes it complete. The speed limit on the mcclellan extension from fair to wright is 25 miles per hour.
