Four sent to hospital after rollover accident

An early morning accident in Negaunee Township sent four people to the hospital.

According to authorities, the accident happened at 1:17 Saturday morning near County Road 480 and M-35. Troopers from the Michigan State Police -Negaunee post were on a general patrol when a vehicle traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on County Road 480 passed them.

Troopers turned around to in an attempt to pull the vehicle over and initiate a traffic stop when the speeding vehicle suddenly left the roadway and rolled several times.

Two of the passengers were thrown from the vehicle. The driver and a passenger were trapped inside the vehicle.

Three males and a female were transported to the emergency room at Marquette General Hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Assisting the State Police on scene was the Negaunee City Police, Negaunee Township Fire and First Responders, Marquette County Sheriffs Department, Marquette City K-9 Unit, Marquette County Rescue Unit 131, Bell and MGH EMS.
