Ishpeming Man Sentenced in Court

a stabbing suspect was back in court today.

The Ishpeming man arrested in June in connection to a stabbing in Marquette has been sentenced.

Danny Lee Weymouth turned 20 years old in jail just days after the incident.

He accepted a reduced charge last month in exchange for testimony against his co–defendant.

He pled guilty in circuit court today to possession of a controlled substance.

Weymouth will spend 9 months in jail, with credit for 25 days served.

His fines and restitution have been set at $798.00.

On June 18th, his co–defendant, Taylor Mitchell, allegedly stabbed 19 year old Zachary Skinner at his home in the Lake Superior Village in Marquette.

According to police, a fight broke out between Weymouth and the victim.

During the fight, authorities believe mitchell stabbed Skinner in his head, leg and back.

After the incident, skinner was treated for his injuries and released.
