Gladstone State Police Post Commander Arrested

The post commander of one of the U.P.’s Michigan State Police posts is suspended from his job, with pay, after being arrested over the weekend.
Lt. William Smith is the commander of the Gladstone Post.
State Police officials in Lansing say he was arrested in Sault Ste. Marie by the Sault City Police.
We at ABC 10 were directed to the Chippewa County Prosecutor’s Office for more information, and our phone calls there were not returned.
However, the Iron Mountain Daily News is reporting that Lt. Smith was arrested early Saturday morning for operating while intoxicated.
Lt. Smith was appointed post commander in Gladstone back in April.
