Marquette DDA Meeting NMU's President

Marquette’s downtown business community wants to get to know Northern Michigan University’s new president a bit better.
The Marquette Downtown Development Authority is having coffee with new NMU president David Haynes this Friday.
DDA director Mona Lang says the group wants to develop a stronger relationship with NMU than it had under former university president Les Wong.
The DDA is trying to develop shorter lines of communication with NMU, and the group will try at least one major new promotional idea with Northern in the next few months — a major Homecoming pre-game event that will close several blocks.
The meeting with Haynes is at 8 am Friday at the Marquette Commons.
Downtown district property owners or business owners can attend free of charge, but Lang is asking everyone to contact the Marquette DDA office for a reservation.
