Negaunee Rollover Crash

A power outage causing traffic signals to not work properly in Negaunee may have been responsible for a two–vehicle rollover accident.
The crash happened at the intersection of US-41 and Maas Street shortly before 12 noon.
According to police, a black 2010 Chevy Equinox driven by 55–year-old Michael Paulson of Valparaiso, Indiana, was westbound on US–41 when a black 2006 Nissan four–door driven by 51–year old Patty Johnson of Negaunee pulled out in front of Paulson’s vehicle.
Paulson was unable to avoid Johnson’s car and hit it.
The impact caused Paulson’s vehicle to roll over into the grass.
No injuries were reported.
Johnson was found at fault and was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
The Michigan State Police assisted the Negaunee City Police at the scene.
Authorities remind motorists that highway traffic has the right of way if traffic lights aren’t working and to proceed with caution at intersections.
