The moving Vietnam wall also received a first–class escort on the last leg of its trip to Gladstone from Michigan Patriot Guard riders.
The bikers rode along with local police Tuesday afternoon to escort the wall from the Island Resort and Casino in Harris to Van Cleve Park.
The group is composed of veterans who take part in all sorts of events that honor their fallen comrades.
Senior U.P. ride captain Nancy Gage says she didn’t even mind the temperatures of 90 degrees and above all that much.
The group also has another event to take part in at 8 pm Friday at the wall, a special Ride of Honor.
Patriot Guard riders also escort the funeral procession of any fallen service member in Michigan.
