4th of July celebrations continue

Fourth of July celebrations are happening throughout the U.P. today, including in one small town with some of the Copper Country’s biggest enthusiasm.

Many people are just beginning to celebrate this Fourth of July, but the people of Lake Linden couldn’t wait to get the party started.

Festivities began late Tuesday afternoon as crowds gathered at the park for food and live music.

To beat the heat, some took to the water while others hitched a ride on the historic steam engine locomotive.

As the sun set and the full moon slowly rose above the tree line, it was time for the main event.

Though it was a late night, the streets were still packed again in the morning for the Fourth of July parade through downtown Lake Linden.

After the parade, it was back to the park for more fun in the sun with another full day’s worth of activities.
