Drowning victim identified
After searching for more than three hours, police dive teams found the body of a Marquette man who drowned Friday evening in Lake Michigamme.
The victim has been identified as 38 year old Shawn Radcliffe Jr.
Witnesses at the scene told State Police Troopers that the victim was swimming with friends when he began to have difficulties. The friends attempted to rescue him, but were unsuccessful.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team located and recovered Radcliffe shortly after 10:00 pm.
Assisting at the scene was the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department Dive
Team, Marquette County Rescue Unit #131, Champion Township First
Responders, and Bell Hospital EMS.
No foul play is suspected and the investigation continues.
