Houghton Co. thefts reported
A search is on for two stolen machines from a Houghton County business.
The Sheriff’s Department says they are investigating the theft of two concrete screed machines that were taken from Somero Enterprises in Atlantic Mine. The machines have a value of more than $75,000 and are used in large scale concrete construction work.
It is believed that the theft occurred within the last two weeks.
One of the machines is a 2009 PowerRake 3 model P-R 3.0. The main body is dark grey and black in color with red markings on it. It has four motorcycle-type tires on it.
The other machine is a 2004 CopperHead model X-D 3.0. The main body is white with a dark grey frame and has two motorcycle-type tires on it.
Also missing: the remote controls that come with the two machines.
