Relay for Life Wrap Up

Things are quiet now at the Houghton High School track as the final numbers are tallied from the 2012 Relay For Life.

The weekend fundraiser for the American Cancer Society stepped off on Friday with 30 teams participating.
Many of them had booths set up around the track with food, silent auctions, and games…all to try and raise money in the fight against cancer.

It’s expected that this year’s Relay For Life brought in around $100,000.
Another event at the 2012 Relay For Life gave young participants a chance to show off their skills.

The Ready–Set–Relay games held Saturday brought together the children at the Relay for competitions in running…sack races…tug–o–war…and balloon tossing.
6–year–old Bella Harju walked away with enough hardware around her neck to make Mr. T jealous.
