Delta County Search & Rescue Fundraiser

From the Delta County Sheriff’s Department:

The volunteers from the Delta County Search and Rescue Team are holding their 2nd Annual Raffle and Benefit Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 6 to help address emergency response needs.
The fundraiser will be held at the Rapid River Lions Club at 10491 S. Main Street in Rapid River.
The event runs from 4 pm to 11 pm.
Raffle tickets are one for $5 or three for $10.
Some of the raffle prizes include a Marlin Lever Action 45-70 Guide Gun, Wilderness Pungo 120 Kayak, a Five hour Fishing Charter with Captain John Gudwer, a Marlin xL7 30-06, Portable Gas Grill, 18 holes of golf with carts for four, among some other prizes.

The Search and Rescue (SAR) Team, operating under the auspices of the Delta County Sheriff Office, is comprised of 20 trained volunteers. Volunteers are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Established in 1985, the Team covers 1,177 square miles that consists of a variety of terrain of woodlands, area waterways, including over 200 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline.
The highly trained volunteers respond to situations such as ice rescue, missing persons, swift water rescue, high angle, and evacuations.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help the Team purchase needed equipment and attend vital training to enhance emergency response. Delta County Search and Rescue Team is on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/DCSARMI.
