Motorcyclist in critical condition
A woman from Kentucky is in critical condition tonight, after a motorcycle crash in the U.P. Wednesday morning.
54 year old Margerite Webster, of Glencoe, Kentucky was not wearing a helmet when her bike ran into another motorcycle west of Manistique on U.S. 2.
Michigan State Police from the St. Ignace post say Webster ran into a 65 year old biker who was part of the same group of riders.
That rider was not wearing a helmet, either.
Webster was taken to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Marquette General.
Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in this accident.
The Michigan State Police Manistique detachment continues to investigate the accident
State police were assisted by Michigan Department of Natural Resources conservation officers, Sault Ste. Tribe of Chippewa Indians Police, the Schoolcraft County Road Commission and the Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department.
