The weather has been a hot topic of conversation today.
But if you plan on hitting the waters to cool down, the Coast Guard has some advice: do it responsibly.
BM2 Joshua Kuhn from Coast Guard Station Marquette says that no matter what kind of watercraft, it’s important to remember that just like drinking and driving on land, drinking and driving on water is against the law.
The Coast Guard will be out in force Friday, Saturday and Sunday looking for boaters who may be operating while intoxicated.
The national event, called Operation Dry Water, is meant to raise awareness of the risks of drinking and boating.
