Lake Bancroft Update

We have a follow–up report for you on a story we first brought you in December.
Ishpeming residents are trying to restore the beauty of one of the city’s natural features.

Lake Bancroft has been filling in with organic sediment since the 1930s.
A group called the Lake Bancroft committee is raising money for a restoration effort.
The equipment they need will use the electrical panels that the existing fountains use.

The Lake Bancroft committee is still looking to raise money.
The group is leaving the option for residents to donate anytime they pay a city utility bill or tax bill.

The group also says even though the restoration equipment isn’t in the water yet, it is still working on the project now.
The committee says it will buy the equipment that it needs in the coming months so that it can be put to use next spring.
