It’s been six months since Houghton resident Amy Roberts last went running.
Last December, Roberts was out on a morning jog along Sharon Avenue when she was hit from behind by a driver that never saw her.
The 31–year–old physical therapist underwent multiple brain surgeries, and many thought she might never walk again.
But over the weekend, at the Baraga County Lake Trout Festival in L’Anse, Amy proved them wrong.
After being pushed in a wheelchair for most of the Pequaming Run — a race she won last year — Amy stood up and crossed the finish line to the sound of hundreds of cheering fans.
