Houghton accident injures motorcyclist

The Houghton Police Department is investigating a Personal Injury Accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.

The accident happened Thursday at approximately 8:00 p.m. at the M-26/US41 interchange, commonly referred to as ‘the loop’ on the south side of the  Portage Lift Bridge.

Police say 19 year-old female driver from Calumet was changing lanes, failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with the motorcycle.

The motorcycle was driven by a 33 year-old Chassell man.  The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Portage Hospital.
