New technology at Calumet Theater

A concert this Saturday in Calumet could be the first public event some people have hear clearly in a long time.

People with hearing trouble used to have to skip events like concerts.

But that has now changed.

The Calumet Theater is the first venue in the Upper Peninsula to have a hearing loop installed…courtesy of Portage Health in Hancock.

The sound of Judy Collins’s voice might be the clearest thing some people have heard in years when she sings at the Calumet Theater on Saturday.

Portage Health provided all of the equipment, installation, and even two extra headsets that people can borrow from the Theater.
