Tourism Tuesday: Copper Range Historical Museum

ABC 10’s Tourism Tuesday series continues with a trip back to the height of the mining boom in the Copper Country.
The area is home to several terrific museums featuring that rich aspect of local history.
One of those is the Copper Range Historical Museum in South Range.
The museum focuses on those who lived and worked in the range area, including South Range, Baltic, Trimountain, Painesdale, Duncan, Atlantic Mine and Redridge.
Karen Marie Laitila Johnson, the treasurer of the Copper Range Historical Society, says a trip here can bring you back to experience what life was like in the early days of the range.
She says visitors usually find something that takes them back to their own youth, their parents’ lives or even their grandparents’ lives.
The museum operates solely on a volunteer and donation basis.
