The northern part of Escanaba has electricity again after a car accident caused it to lose power overnight.
Escanaba Public Safety says it happened on the 1700 block of Sheridan Road shortly after 2 am.
21-year-old Nick Leonard of Escanaba drove his vehicle off the road and hit a utility pole.
Police say the collision knocked the pole over and caused a power outage that lasted more than five hours.
Leonard was not hurt in the accident and was cited for careless driving.
