The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is fighting a wildfire just south of M–28 in Seney.

The Michigan DNR reports that more than 50 acres of land are burning.

There’s no word yet if the fire has been contained.

A 20-acre blaze is also burning near Shingleton.

Fire danger across the U.P is still high, but the burn ban has been lifted in many areas.

Outdoor burning is okay again in Keweenaw, Ontonagon, Iron, Baraga, Menominee and Marquette Counties with proper precautions.

Houghton, Alger and Delta Counties still have burn restrictions in effect.

There’s still no burning of open debris in Iron and Dickinson Counties, in the eastern U.P. or in the northern half of the Lower Peninsula.
