Commercial Boat Tour Returns to Marquette

Many people in the U.P. enjoy Marquette’s harbor, but for more than a decade, people haven’t been able to do it on board a commercial tour boat.

That’s changed, as of today.

Marquette Harbor Cruises sent the 81–foot Isle Royale Queen III on its maiden voyage this afternoon.

The two–hour route takes passengers from the Lower Harbor past Presque Isle to Partridge Island and back.

They’re starting with one cruise at 1 pm each day, building up to three cruises a day as summer reaches its peak.

Sunset cruises may also be possible.

Marquette Harbor Cruises manager Molly Carmody says they’ve already booked several late-evening private charter cruises this season, leaving at 8 or 8:30 at night.

Tickets for a cruise aboard the Isle Royale Queen III are on sale at the Lower Harbor ticket office.

They cost $25 for adults and $10 for kids 14 and under.
