Ely Township Wildfire Follow-Up
It’s been a day of mopping up for fire crews in western Marquette County.
Department of Natural Resources fire crews from several parts of the Upper Peninsula worked into Tuesday night to contain a wildfire just outside of Ishpeming.
More than 60 acres were burned off of County Road 581 in Ely Township.
DNR officials say they have not yet determined what started the fire.
They say it could have been caused by equipment that was operating in the area.
