County Commissioners Upset with Lansing

The Marquette County Coard of Commissioners met for a regular board meeting tonight.

At the meeting it was evident that many of the County Commissioners are frustrated with the legislatures in Lansing. Specifically dealing with a potential Severance Tax Bill prepared by Representative Huuki.

Vice Chair Heikkila made a motion to not support Representative Huuki’s third draft of the Severance Tax Legislation. The motion was favored by all members on the board.

The County Board of Commissioners now plans to continue to keep Marquette County’s best interest in mind. They will be sending their questions and concerns regarding this bill to Lansing.
