Neighbor helps Police Subdue Suspect

With help from a good Samaritan, police in Marquette County were able to take an assault suspect into custody Friday evening.

At 5:30 p.m. Friday, the Forsyth Township Police Department responded to an assault in progress on Koski Lane near Gwinn. When the officer confronted the suspect, a struggle took place. A neighbor helped the officer restrain the suspect.

A 70 year old woman was treated on scene by the officer and Forsyth EMS and was sent to Marquette General Hospital. A second victim, a man, did not require medical assistance.

The 32 year old suspect is a relative of the two victims. Hewas taken to the Marquette County Jail where he is being held on Domestic Assault charges.

Further charges are pending and the case will be reviewed by the Marquette County
