Ishpeming Spring Tea Fundraiser

The Ishpeming Area Historical Society is taking a step back in time this weekend for a first-annual spring tea event.

It will be held at the historic Queen Anne Victorian home on Fifth Street in Ishpeming.

The home was built in 1903.

As an early mother’s day celebration, guests at this event will learn what life was like in Ishpeming at the turn of the century and get a peek back at women’s fashions from the early 1900s.

Sue Boback, president of the Ishpeming Historical Society, says among other concepts, hats were very different at the turn of the 20th century from what they’d be like a few decades later.

Guests will receive a tour of the historic Ishpeming home, and they’ll be served tea and a special menu that will remain a surprise until the event.

This is a major fundraiser for the Ishpeming Historical Society.

Tickets for this event are available at the Antique Mall in downtown Ishpeming until 5 pm tomorrow.
