The Marquette County Board of Commissioners met for a regular board meeting and an equalization meeting tonight.
All Commissioners attended with a few tough decisions to make. The salaries for elected officials for the 2013 fiscal year were decided upon tonight. Some salaries will stay the same. The County Drain Commissioner and The County Mine Inspector at just under $25,000 a year. Even though the board will soon be facing many tough financial decisions.
The Prosecuting Attorney will receive a pay increase. The salary for this position is already above average for the state of michigan.
With a vote of 5 to 4 among the Commissions, the salary for that position will be increased to $110,000 a year.
Marquette County Commissioner’s salaries will stay the same for the upcoming fiscal year at $8,000 and the Chair Person makes $9,000.
