Group wants better roads in the U.P.

Lawmakers in Michigan continue to discuss raising taxes on gasoline as part of a plan to raise money for roads and bridges. One advocate who says they should quit talking and do it.

Do you think you should be paying more for gas?

How about more money for car registrations?

Former U.P. resident, Jim Shea thinks you should. He is with Students Reinventing Michigan. And, he wants to convince lawmakers that you should too.

Why? Shea believes that Michigan’s crumbling infrastructure puts lives in danger and costs motorists money.

To get people on board with his plan, Shea is holding a series of open houses throughout the Upper Peninsula, including one today in Houghton County. Get the details on that meeting tonight on ABC 10 News Now.
