Room at the Inn Award Nomination

The Marquette area’s homeless shelter program is in the running for a major national award.

And it could use your support to help bring home the prize.

Room at the Inn is one of the nominees for the 2012 Lumen Christi Award.

It honors a person or group that shares the light of Christ with the community.

If Room at the Inn wins, the group’s founder, Helen McCormick, says it would hire a second social worker to work alongside Robin Roy.

The winner receives $25,000, and the Catholic diocese that the winner comes from also receives $25,000.

A popular vote on Facebook is one of the factors that will determine the winner.

If you want to vote, you can click here and scroll about three-quarters of the way down the page until you find Room at the Inn.
