Doctor Talks on Stroke Care

The “Your Health” public lecture series at Northern Michigan University continued tonight.

The focus was stroke care in the context of translating research to actual patient care. The presentation focused on the future of stroke care in emergency departments. It also highlighted the significant strides stroke research has taken the last two decades.

Research has closed the gap between what is done in a research setting with what actually happens in the real world. But first, people must be aware of the symptoms of a stroke. Stroke care is very time sensitive. The sooner it can be treated, the better.
